A Quieter 400 MB Drive
While NeXT computer systems are designed to break sound barriers, you shouldn't hear our hard drives at all. NeXT disk drives are be designed to be quiet.

The NeXT 100 MB and 200 MB disk drives meet our high standards. The 400 MB SCSI disk drive that ships in the NeXTstation^TM and NeXTstation Color, however, is not as quiet as the others.

Our customers have indicated that the 400 MB drive is not as quiet as they (or we) would like. And we're listening.

In response to this feedback, NeXT has been working closely with our supplier to reduce the noise. We've made several design improvements, which are reflected in the drive we're now shipping. We thank you for your input.
