Setup and Installation:
Known Problems:
Release 3.1 and 3.2
| The NeXT CD-ROM drive may need to be set to SCSI ID number six in order to be recognized by either a DPT or Adaptec SCSI Controller. | |
| The NeXT Color Printer should not be taken off-line while your PC system runs NEXTSTEP. After doing so subsequent print jobs may produce odd behavior usually in the form of seemingly random text output. Rebooting with the printer on-line will fix this problem. | |
| The NeXT Color Printer is incompatible with the DPT 2012 SCSI controller under NEXTSTEP Release 3.1 for Intel Processors. This problem may be fixed in Release 3.2. | |
| NeXT SCSI hard drives may need to be low level formatted to 512 bytes per block in order to work as bootable devices on an Intel based PC. Both Adaptec and DPT provide software and documentation with their PC SCSI controller cards for this process. |
