Q: How can I send e-mail to people on the Internet?
A: This document provides some hints regarding connecting to both Usenet news and Internet electronic mail. E-mail support is provided using the Unix UUCP facility. This set of programs allows you to send and receive mail using a modem connected to a phone line. The UUCP facility is also used to download news from a server to your machine. Once connected to the network through your modem, you can send and receive mail using the NeXT multimedia Mail application.
Here is a small list of companies that provide both e-mail and news service. This list is by no means complete and NeXT does not endorse any of these vendors. For more information see the book listed at the end of this document.
