User + Developer: Environments: 330 MB minimum, 400 MB recommended. |
RAM REQUIREMENTS
| RAM requirements vary depending upon the user's selection of graphics adapter. NEXTSTEP Release 3.3 supports a maximum of 256MB of memory.
24-bit color: 16 MB RAM Mininum, 32 MB RAM Recommended |
GRAPHICS ADAPTERS
| 8-bit grayscale or color at a resolution of 1280x1024 on 712 and 715 workstations and 735 or 755 with CRX adapter. Pseudo 24-bit color available on 712 and 715(/64, /80, or /100) workstations. 24-bit color support on 715 (/33, /50, or /75), 735, and 755 workstations requires the CRX-24 graphics adaptor. Release 3.3 supports multiple monitors with some graphics cards for expanded desktop space. |
MASS STORAGE
| SCSI hard disk drives, CD-ROM drives, 1/4 inch tape drives, Exabyte tape drives, and DAT tape drives are supported. 1.44 MB floppy disk drive is supported on the 712 workstations. SCSI floppy is not supported on the 7X5 workstations. |
KEYBOARD & POINTING DEVICES
| PS/2 style keybaords and mice are supported on the 712 workstations and 715 (/64, /80, or /100). HP-HIL style keyboards and mice are supported on 7X5 workstations except 715 (/64, /80, and /100). |

NETWORKING
| Thick, thin, and twisted pair ethernet on board interfaces are supported. Ethernet transceivers may be necessary for installation at particular sites. |
SOUND
| 16-bit audio at 22 and 44 khz is supported. |
INSTALLATION
| An HP SCSI CDROM is required for installation of NEXTSTEP. |
